Here I am leaving my job for the last time after 34 years of building tires. I've built several of those giant loader tires, but for the past 20 some years, I worked in the radial department building much smaller ones... only 4 to 6 feet tall. I'm not sure what the ones at the gate are, but I'm guessing they mount on a 57" rim. It's a good feeling knowing that I will never have to build another one!
A History of Craftsmanship
As long as I can remember, I've been tearing things apart and putting them back together, and have always loved making things. I thought for a while that I would someday become a master guitar builder. I've built a few, and have several unfinished in the shop that I'll get around to one of these days! The sad truth is, it takes me forever to finish one and you could buy a better guitar for a lot less than I'd have to ask for them.
